I am Dawn!

There are moments in life that feel like divine appointments—moments when God’s hand is so evident that you know He is orchestrating every detail. For me, that moment happened on what seemed like an ordinary day, but it was anything but ordinary in God’s plan. That was the day I walked through a door that would change my life forever.

I am Dawn. I am the woman from the Pro-life Mississippi article in the Pulse. The one who walked into the door on a cold call, not knowing that God was calling me to something far greater. That day, I didn’t just walk through a physical door; I stepped into God’s grace and healing, allowing Him to rewrite my story. My journey began with pain—deep, soul-wrenching pain from choices I had made in the past. The burden of regret, shame, and guilt was suffocating. For years, I tried to bury my pain, but no matter how far I ran, it followed me. The weight of my choices seemed unbearable, and I felt unworthy of love—unworthy of God’s forgiveness.

But God, in His infinite mercy, had other plans for me. That day, He led me to Tammy Tillman, Office Manager of Pro-Life Mississippi, and Janis Lane, Volunteer Coordinator. They are two of God’s angels who took me into their arms, loved on me with the love of Jesus, and led me to the Save One class—a post-abortion healing Bible study program rooted in biblical truth and God’s promise of redemption. At first, I was hesitant. The idea of confronting my past felt overwhelming. But God, through His Holy Spirit, gently nudged me, whispering, “This is where I want you to be.”

As I began the Save One class, I was met with God’s love in the form of compassionate facilitators who reflected His heart. They didn’t judge me; instead, they showed me the unconditional love of Christ. Through scripture, prayer, and the healing power of His Word, I began to see myself not as broken beyond repair but as a child of God—redeemed, restored, and deeply loved.

For the first time in years, I experienced the peace of Christ that surpasses all understanding. The class didn’t just teach me about God’s forgiveness; it revealed the depth of His grace. It didn’t just talk about freedom; it led me into it. I learned to see myself through God’s eyes—not defined by my past but by His perfect love.

Through this journey, my life has been saved in ways only God could accomplish. The guilt that once consumed me has been replaced with the assurance that Jesus bore it all on the cross. The shame that silenced me has been exchanged for a testimony of His goodness. The emptiness that haunted me has been filled with the hope of eternal life and a purpose rooted in Him.

Two weeks after completing the Save One class, God opened yet another door for me. I had the privilege of volunteering at the state fair, working at the Pro-Life MS booth. It was my first opportunity to share my story publicly—a story of God’s redemption and healing. As I handed out the tiny baby models that symbolize the precious lives we fight to protect, I spoke with people about my journey and listened to their stories.

Through those conversations, I saw God at work once again. Sharing my testimony wasn’t just about my healing; it was a way to plant seeds of hope and healing in others. By opening up about my past, I invited others to do the same, and I witnessed firsthand how God can use our brokenness to minister to others. Each story shared was an opportunity to speak of His love and remind people that no one is beyond the reach of His grace.

I am Dawn. I am a testament to the redeeming power of Jesus Christ. I am living proof that God’s grace is greater than any sin, that His love reaches into the darkest places to bring light and life. And I share my story not for recognition, but to point others to the One who saved me.

If you are struggling, if you are hurting, if you are carrying a burden that feels unbearable, I want you to know this: there is hope in Jesus. There is healing in His name. And there is a God who loves you so much that He sent His Son to die for you, so that you might have an abundant life.

The door I walked through that day wasn’t just a door to a building. It was a door to God’s redeeming love—a love that transforms, heals, and makes all things new. And for that, I am forever grateful.

To God be the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
